Two Neuroscience Fellowships Available
For the investigation of Niemann-Pick Type C disease
Co-sponsored by

$75,000 per annum for two years (competitive renewable)
The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation (APMRF) and Dana’s Angels Research Trust (DART) are inviting applications for postdoctoral research fellowships examining the neurobiology of Niemann-Pick Type C (NP-C) disease. M.D.'s, M.D./Ph.D.'s and Ph.D. postdoctoral fellows may apply for funding to investigate the neurobiology and neuropathology of Niemann-Pick Type C (NP-C) disease, a lethal lysosomal storage disorder associated with impaired macromolecular trafficking in the endosomal-lysosomal system and characteristic neuropathology. Major gaps exist in understanding basic mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction and death, and in identifying biomarkers of disease activity for diagnosis and clinical trials. Preference will be given to candidates whose research plans are directed to these areas of need.
The fellowships provide support of $75,000 per annum for two years and are renewable based on performance. Two fellowships will be funded to begin in July 2007. Applicants must be currently associated with a recognized neuroscience lab or have all of the employment paperwork in place to join one by July 1, 2007.
Applicants should prepare a two-page letter of intent, curriculum vitae and three references from mentors or other senior colleagues able to attest to their qualifications. Please list contact information including an email address. Application materials should be submitted by email to Glen Shepherd (all materials should be in Word or scanned as a JPEG, or PDF), and one hard copy mailed to both APMRF and DART by February 28, 2007. All applicants will be informed by March 30, 2007 via email of the decision of the Scientific Advisory Board.
